Fred L. Bardo, age 57, of Benton, died at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient since Thursday.
Born March 28, 1952, in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Leroy and Freda E. (Brown) Bardo. He lived in the Benton area since 1976.
Fred was last employed as an upholsterer for Decorator Industries, Bloomsburg, for four years. He was a social member of the VFW Post 8317, Benton.
Surviving are a son, Fred L. Bardo, Jr., and his wife Rita, Sweet Valley; a daughter, Tammy K., wife of Steven Krolick, Benton; five grandchildren; a brother, Walter L. Bardo, and his companion Nancy, Palmyra, N.Y.; and a sister, Alberta, wife of William McHenry, Benton.
Fred was preceded in death by four brothers: Perry Leonard Bardo, Adrian Bardo, Charles Bardo and Thomas Bardo; and by a sister, Kathryn Karns.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Bethel Hill Cemetery, Fairmount Township, Luzerne County, with the Rev. James F. Kremer, retired United Methodist Minister, officiating. There will be no viewing.
