Frederick Ray Foust, age 80, 233 Knouse Road, Benton, died at 9:40 p. m. Monday, December 7, 2015 at his home after being in failing health for two years.
Born in New Columbus on July 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Snyder) Foust. He resided in the Benton area all of his lifetime and attended the former Sugarloaf School.
Ray was last employed as the road supervisor for Jackson Township, where he was employed for 12 years. Earlier he was employed by the former Robert T. Vincent Construction, building golf courses and at L & K Mills, both of Benton.
He was a social member of Fort Rickettâs Post 8317, VFW, Benton and the Sonestown American Legion Post.
Ray enjoyed woodworking, hunting and farming.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Foust.
Surviving are his wife, the former Shelva Jean Getz, with whom he celebrated his 58th wedding anniversary on February 15, 2015; three children: Rose L., wife of Terry Hack, Stillwater; Scott E. Foust, and his wife Courtney, Benton; Pamela F., wife of John Andrezze, Benton; two grandchildren: Bridget Miller, New Cumberland and John Andrezze, Jr., Bloomsburg; three great-grandchildren: Zachary Miller and Devyn Miller; and Troy Andrezze.
Also surviving are four siblings: Agnes Winter, Benton; Mildred Winter, Stillwater; Joseph Foust, and his wife Pat, Millville; and Sarah, wife of Franklin Newhart, Benton.
At Rayâs request, there will be no funeral services or viewing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton.
