Fronie C. Greenly
Fronie C. Greenly, age 90, formerly of Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy) died at 5:15 a. m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where she was a patient since April. Prior to that she resided at Loyalton of Bloomsburg and Emeritus Assisted Living from 1995 until April, 2013.
Born in Espy on June 23, 1923, she was the only child of the late William L. and Mary (Karns) Crossley. She resided in Espy from 1946 until 1995.
Fronie was a 1941 graduate of the former Scott Township High School and was valedictorian of her graduating class.
She was employed in the Soil Conservation Office in Bloomsburg for over 40 years, retiring in 1988.
A lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Espy, she also was a member of Bloomsburg Chapter 279, Order of Eastern Star and the former Bloomsburg Business & Professional Womenâs Club.
During the Korean War she regularly sent gifts to the US Military servicemen serving in Korea. She and her husband traveled extensively through out the United States and regularly attended NASCAR racing events.
Her husband, William E. Greenly, preceded her in death on January 25, 1996.
She was the last of her immediate family and is survived by a number of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in the Greenly family, including Paul O. Greenly and his wife Beckey of Fernville, who were her caregivers for many years.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in New Rosemont Cemetery, Old Berwick Road, Espy, with her pastor, Caleb J. Fritz officiating. There will be no viewing.
