Gelsomina V. Collins, age 81, formerly of Mt. Pocono, died at 1:10 p. m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Staten Island, N.Y. on April 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elvira Saer. Gelsomina grew up in Staten Island before moving to Mt. Pocono over 20 years ago. She had resided in the Bloomsburg area since March.
Gelsomina was a homemaker who owned her own deli in Staten Island for many years.
She was of the Catholic faith.
A social butterfly, Gelsomina enjoyed meeting up for lunch with her friends and family. Her greatest loves were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Collins; a daughter, Patricia Ann Crilly on May 10, 2006; a son-in-law, Thomas Crilly; and a brother.
Surviving are six grandchildren: Victoria, wife of Josh Martin, Hollywood, Fla.; Kathleen, wife of Mike Andress; Edward Crilly; Emily, wife of Jack Reichart; Erin Crilly and Isabella Crilly, all of Bloomsburg; eight great grandchildren: Christopher, Jacob and Shandon Martin; Brantley and Jake Andress; Ricky and Adelyn Reichart and Ronnie Crilly; a brother,; a sister-in-law, Ann Saer; and niece, Toni-Ann, wife of Michael Treglia, Monroe, N.J.
Funeral services will be held on. Saturday, May 16, at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Dr. L. Lee Barnhardt, pastor of First English Baptist Church, Bloomsburg, officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visitation 1 to 2 p.m.. at the funeral home.
