Geneva T. "Jean" Hallisey

Geneva T. "Jean" Zablocky  Hallisey, age 102, 3611 Second Street, Bloomsburg (Almedia) passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017, at the  Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center where she was a patient since February, 2013.

Born on August 28, 1915 in McCauley, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Lillie (Miller) Wilkins. She resided in Almedia since 1955 and formerly lived in Washington, D.C.

Jean was employed at the former J. C. Penney Co. store on Main Street, Bloomsburg and last at the former Agway Store.

She was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she was the oldest member at the time of her death. She served on various committees over the years and was active in the Love Knotters quilting group.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward F. Zablocky on February  1, 1994 after 57 years of marriage; by a daughter, Janet Walling; by two sons: John E. Zablocky and his wife Pearl and Irwin Zablocky; and by a grandson,  David Breidenstein.

Jean is survived by her husband, William E. Hallisey, with whom she observed their 19th wedding anniversary on July 22, 2017; two daughters:  Betty, wife of John Ebersole, Mechanicsburg and Lucille, wife of Larry Ikeler, Parkton, Maryland; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a daughter in law, Carol, wife of Lee Hall, Hughesville. She was the last of her immediate family and is also survived by  many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. in the chapel of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Joel  L . Zeiders officiating. Interment in Hidlay Cemetery, Scott Township.

Viewing will be from 6-8 p. m. Friday at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg and on Saturday from 10-11 a. m. in the parlor of the church.
