George L. Baran, age 76, 331 Main St., Forest City, Susquehanna County, died at 6:05 a. m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, where he was a patient for one month.
Born in Berwick on July 25, 1940, he was a son of the late Anthony and Christine (Lubach) Baran. He resided in Berwick until three years ago when he moved to Forest City. Most of his earlier life was spent in Berwick except for two years that he resided in Johnstown while undergoing rehabilitation. During this time he studied accounting. He was a 1958 graduate of Berwick High School.
George was employed by Travel Centers of America, Buckhorn, for 30 years as a cashier/fuel attendant.
George enjoyed hunting, fishing and all sports.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura, wife of Kyle Price, Browndale, Susquehanna County; a brother, John Baran, and his wife Glenda, Millville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Francis J. Tamburro, pastor of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception BVM Church, Berwick Officiating. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Berwick. Friends may call on Friday from 1:30 to 2:30 p. m.
