George A. Bucher

George A. Bucher, age 86, of 107 Spring Garden Ave., Bloomsburg (Fernville) passed away early Sunday, August 21, 2022 at The Gardens At Orangeville where he was admitted on Thursday.

Born in Bloomsburg on January 21, 1936, he was a son of the late Paul and Ethel (Gillaspy) Bucher. He was a lifelong resident of Fernville.

George was employed by UGI Gas Utilities, Inc., Bloomsburg for 37 years. After retirement, he was employed parttime at the former Your Building Center on 9^th Stret, Bloomsburg for a number of years.

He was a member of the Bloomsburg Christian Church.

George liked to decorate for holidays and display American flags. He also enjoyed camping.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Bucher.

Surviving is his wife, the former Erla Mae Heacock, with whom he observed their 59^th wedding anniversary on October 19, 2021, a daughter Jennifer, wife of Robert Bingaman, Bloomsburg; two granddaughters: Sabrina Bingaman, Bloomsburg and Katelyn Bingaman, serving with the U. S. Navy in the State of Washington; and a half/brother, Robert Ellis, Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Eric J. Miller, officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends may call on Friday from 10-11 a. m.
