Getha H. Creasy

Getha H. Creasy, 101, of 1938 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy), died at 9:10 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Balanced Care at Bloomsburg in Scott Township, where she was a guest since January.

Born on June 6, 1909, in Madison Township, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Emma (Tronsue) Howell. She resided in Espy since 1936.

Getha was a meber of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women of the Church.

She enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Getha was preceded in death by her husband, Frank I. Creasy, on December 22, 1978, by three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are two sons: Nelson L. Creasy and his wife, Caroline M., and Larry F. Creasy and his wife, Linda, all of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren; and six great0grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, the Rev. Jennifer Parks-Snyder, officiating. Interment will be in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends may call on Wednesday after 10 a.m.
