Gina L. (Nork) DeVitis, age 33, 116 Cheyney Drive (Eagle Rock Resort), Hazleton, passed away early Sunday, July 24, 2011.
Born in Pottsville on March 7, 1978, she was a daughter of Thomas J. and Barbara J. (Kayes) Nork. She had resided at Eagle Rock Resort for the past seven years.
Gina graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1996, and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 from Juniata College, where she played soccer; and her Master of Science degree from Bloomsburg University.
She was currently employed as an instructional designer by Meta Media, Germantown, Md. She was very proud of her hard work on many projects, including those for the NRA, NASA, OSHA, and NIH.
Gina was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend. She celebrated life every chance she had. She was funny, intelligent, caring and loved by all. She enjoyed the outdoors, and was involved in many of the activities at Eagle Rock Resort. She also loved animals, especially her dog Brutus. She was a loyal friend to all she knew, and her best friend was her husband, Josh.
Surviving in addition to her parents is her husband, Joshua S. DeVitis, with whom she would have celebrated seven years of marriage on October 30, 2011; a sister, Laura, wife of Chadd Roadarmel, Danville; three uncles: Frank âFranookâ Kayes, companion Joan Link, Shenandoah; Joseph Kayes, wife Anne, Shenandoah; and Joseph Nork, wife Lynne, Bethlehem; four cousins: Rebecca and Joseph Kayes, Shenandoah; and Amy and Steven Nork, Bethlehem; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charlann and Richard Monica, Tomâs River, New Jersey; and a sister-in-law, Karissa Monica, Tomâs River, New Jersey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12 noon in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg, with Mgsr. Robert E. Lawrence officiating. Friends are invited to call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Christian wake service at 7:45 p.m.
