Gladys R. Laubach
Gladys R. Laubach, age 89, 7 Penn Brook Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 5:30 a. m. Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health care Center, where she resided since October, 2011. Her death followed a lengthy illness.
Born in Bloomsburg on March 6, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Ernest G. and Laura (Michael) Hartman. Her early life was spent in the Benton area and she was a 1942 graduate of Benton High School. She resided in the Bloomsburg area since 1942.
Gladys was employed for many years as a teller at the former United Penn Bank, Bloomsburg retiring in 1986.
A long time member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, she also belonged to California Grange 941 in Limestoneville and was a former member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary.
Gladys enjoyed boating and spending time in Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Budd Laubach on December 28, 1998 and a sister, Edith Schrader on Feb. 18, 1964.
Surviving are a son, Rick K. Laubach, and his wife Vonda, Bloomsburg; a granddaughter, Katrina R. Laubach, Bloomsburg; a niece, Joan Stauffer, Bloomsburg; and a nephew, William Laubach, Cogan Station.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Audrey M. Brosious officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10 - 11 a. m. California Grange 941 will hold memorial services at 10 a. m.
