Glenn R. Lechleitner, age 83, 90 Register Road, Huntington Mills, died at 5:00 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2007 at the Bonham Nursing Center, Register, where he had been a guest since Novemeber 2003.
Born on December 11, 1923, in Huntington Township, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Oliver and Sarah (Davis) Lechleitner. A lifelong resident of Huntington Township, he graduated from the former Huntington High School in 1943.
Glenn was employed as a farmer in Benton Township for James A. Dildine and the late Grant Brink. He was last employed on the Huntington Township road crew, retiring in 1988 after 20 years of employment.
He was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church.
Glenn enjoyed hunting and fishing and taking walks through the woods.
Glenn served with the U.S. Army during World War II attaining the rank of Corporal and receiving the World War II Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mae I. McHenry, who is also a guest at the Bonham Nursing Center and with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 8, 2006, two son's, Ronald G. Lechleitner, wife Leandra and Donald G. Lechleitner, wife Debra; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Two brothers', Clayton A. Lechleitner, his wife Pearl, Stillwater and Robert W. Lechleitner, his wife Grace of Huntington Mills; and a sister, Ramona, her husband James K. Bonham, Huntington Mills.
Glenn was preceded in death by four brothers', Albert E, James O., Leo and John H. Lechleitner and by two sisters', Edith Ross and Margaret H. Cain.
