Gloria D. Kline

Gloria D. Kline, age 94, formerly of College Hill, Bloomsburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the Mt. Carmel Nursing & Rehab Center in Mt. Carmel.

She was born on September 20, 1928 in Presque Isle, Maine, a daughter of the late Leo and Loretta (Rhodes) Geagan.

Gloria graduated from Catawissa High School, class of 1946.

She was married to the late Donald B. “Moonie” Kline on November 1, 1947, with whom she shared 49 loving years as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother before his death on April 4, 1996.

Gloria began working in the business office at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, in 1968, retiring in 1990. She often said, her co-workers at Geisinger were like an extended part of her family. She was well liked by everyone, found joy in the simplest things and extended grace to everyone who knew her. She was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg..

Gloria is survived by one child, Donna D., wife of David W. Klingerman, Sr., Bloomsburg; four grandchildren: Jamie Thrush and her husband Keith, Jennifer Zentner and her husband Richard, David W. Klingerman, Jr. and his wife Katherine, Joshua Klingerman, and his wife Jackie, all of Bloomsburg; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother Rodney Cherrington and his wife Susie, Reno Nevada and many nieces and nephews with whom she had a special bond.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by  her sister, Connie Stosney and brother, Edward Cherrington.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg with her pastor, Rev. Mark F. Reisinger officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery,  Catawissa. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 3-5 p. m.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gloria’s name to Wesley United Methodist Church, 130 W. Third St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
