Goldie M. (Frey) Dubyak, age 88, of 149 Scotch Valley Dr., Bloomsburg, died early Wednesday morning, May 18, 2022 at Sunset Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Scott Twp., where she had been a resident since May 3.
Born on May 19, 1933 in Beaver Twp., she was a daughter of the late Jerry and Nora (George) Frey, Sr. A lifelong resident of Beaver Twp., she was a 1951 graduate of Beaver Township High School.
Goldie was employed by Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for 19 ½ years as a Nurse’s Aide.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Nuremberg. She enjoyed doing crafts and playing cards with her family.
In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Dubyak, on June 16, 2002; two brothers, Carl R. Frey and John E. Frey; and a sister, Joanne H. Deebel.
Surviving are two brothers: Arnold W. Frey and his wife, Anna “Pat”, of Wilmington, DE, and Jerry O. Frey, Jr., and his wife Beryl, of Bloomsburg; three sisters: Darlene Frey, of Mifflinville, Donna Lee, wife of Robert Bankes, of Bloomsburg, and Judy, wife of Terry Whiteco, of Bloomsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Weston, with her pastor, Rev. Richard J. Polmounter, officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
