Goldie I. Gottstein

Goldie I. Gottstein, age 93, 886-C State Road, Bloomsburg, died at 2:40 p. m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center where she resided since November, 2008.

Born on October 20, 1916 in Elysburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Prossie B. (Earnest) George. She resided in Beaver Township since 1936.

Goldie was employed by the former Regal Shirt Co., Catawissa; Columbia Silk Mill, and Hanover Canning Co., both of Bloomsburg. She last did housekeeping for various area families for a number of years.

She attended both the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Grove and Harger's Lutheran Church.

Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Gottstein on July 11, 19991; by a daughter, Julia E. Kaszmetskie in September, 2007 and by a granddaughter, Jessica Maloy.

Surviving are four children: Leonard R. Gottstein, and his wife Alice, Nuremberg; Marie C., wife of James Hartley, Inverness, Fla.; Walter C. Gottstein, and his wife Sharon, and Josephine M. Keyser, both of Bloomsburg; 13 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

She was the last of a family of 10 children, having been preceded in death by nine siblings. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Espy officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11 a. m.
