Harold W. Allen, age 75, of 171 Wagner Drive, Danville, died at his home at 7:07 a. m. Friday, March 26, 2021 after an illness.
Born in Bloomsburg on June 25, 1945, he was a son of the late Jacob and Reba (Whitmoyer) Allen. He was a lifelong resident of Columbia County.
Harold was last employed by the Girton Manufacturing, Inc., Millville, working there for 20 years
before retiring. Earlier he was employed at the former Bloomsburg Mills, Inc., for 24 years.
His hobby was wood working and also metal working. He made scale models and also enjoyed helping friends with their projects.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Martha Harner, Bonnie Hack and Donna Hower and a brother Mark Allen.
Harold is survived by his wife, the former Diana J. Hutton, with whom he observed his 44tjh wedding anniversary on February 19, 2021; a son, James C. Wells and his wife Angela of Bloomsburg and a daughter, Melinda McHenry of Wilkes- Barre; six grandchildren: Shana McHenry, Taylor McHenry, Dalton McHenry, Shane Wells, Joshua Wells and his wife Kelsey, Benjamin Wells and his wife Marinda,; three great-grandchildren: Bryar Wells, Remington Wells, Maverick Wells; four siblings: Kathy Watts, David Allen and his wife Barbara, Diane, wife of Charles Cox and Daniel Allen and his wife Heather, all of Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Rev. Steven C. Hummel, pastor of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery.
