Harry B. Casey, Jr., aged 77 of rural Catawissa died peacefully at his home on Friday morning, November 12, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia on December 10, 1943, he was a son of the late Harry B., Sr. and Isabelle (Davis) Casey. He was a 1961 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote. A resident of Locust Township for the past 12 years, he previously resided in Richboro, Bucks County.
Harry was employed by Verizon as a communications technician for 36 years retiring in 2001.
A member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg, he enjoyed restoring vintage cars, traveling, movies and entertainment. He was active with the Council Rock High School Marching Band Parents Association while his daughters were students there. Since living in Locust Township, he has been a volunteer with the Valley Chemical Fire Co. Auxiliary assisting at the annual carnival.
He was a member of the U. S. Air Force Reserves and served on active duty during the Bay of Pigs incident in the early 1960’s.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Casey.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, the former Catherine “Cathy” Kazana, with whom he observed their 54th wedding anniversary on May 13, 2021; two daughters: Jennifer, wife of Chris Fink, Nazareth and Amanda, wife of Andy Deck, York; four grandchildren: Samantha Fink, Joshua Fink, Casey Deck and India Deck. He was the last of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 at 2 p. m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, Market & West Third Streets, Bloomsburg with his pastor, Rev. Mark F. Reisinger officiating. Visitation will be from 1- 2 p. m. Please use West Third Street entrance. Interment with military honors will be on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
Memorials may be sent a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
