Helen Phyllis Coleman
Helen Phyllis Coleman, age 89, Oxford, Mass. and formerly of Rupert died at 4:30 p. m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Golden Living Center Hermitage, Worcester. Mass. where she was a patient.
Born in Rupert on July 4, 1923, she was a daughter of the late George M. and Martha (Johnston) Frees. She spent her life in Rupert until moving to Oxford about eight years ago.
Phyllis was a beautician, but was best known for raising and selling African violets from her home and also at the Bloomsburg Fair.
She was a lifelong member of the former Rupert United Methjodist Church.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Matthias W. Coleman on October 7, 1992; by a great grandaughter, Elizabeth LeBlanc, and by a sister, Mildred Fetterman.
Surviving are a daughter, Katherine L. deAlmeida, Oxford, Mass.; a son, Michael F. Coleman, and his wife Deborah, Bloomsburg; six grandchildren: Tracey LeBlanc, Shrewsbury, Mass.; Lori Tinsley, Oxford, Mass.; William Tinsley, and his wife Sue, Webster, Mass.; Denise, wife of Peter Graham, Natick, Mass.; Amanda, wife of Codi Graham, Bloomsburg; Mallory Coleman, Middletown, Conn.; a great-grandson, Coleman LeBanc; two great-granddaughters: Samantha Tinsley and Sally Ann Tinsley; and two sisters: Ruth Keller, Bloomsburg and Joan Hummel, Palm Coast, Fla.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her former pastor, Rev. Allen F. Acor officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p. m.
