Ida Margaret Turner, age 83, 15 Wedgeown Road, Bloomsburg, died at 8:03 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at Loyalton At Bloomsburg in Scott Township where she resided since May.
Born in Mt. Pleasant Township on Nov. 4, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Ervin E. and Eleanor M. (Fenstermacher) Magill. She was a 1945 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and resided in Buckhorn since 1952.
Ida was a member of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church; the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of Valley of Bloomsburg Post 273, American Legion. She attended the Columbia Red Rose Chapter of the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are her husband, Merle B. Turner, with whom she celebrated her 63rd wedding anniversary on Oct. 4, 2010, and who currently resides at the Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center; a son, Thomas B. Turner, Danville; a daughter, Janet, wife of Steven Mengle, Bloomsburg; and four grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Ralph B. Hartenbach officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.
