Irene M. Cochran, age 91, of Millersburg, Mich. And Port Ritchey, Fla. Died at 9:08 a. m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for four days .She was in failing health for three years.
Born on August 29, 1917 in Rochester, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Edward P. and Charlotte E. (Axford) Thomas.
She was a graduate of Lake Orion High School, Lake Orion, Mich. in 1935.
Irene was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by her large family. Her husband, John S. Cochran preceded her in death on January 13, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter, Joan Elizabeth Brady, with whom she had been residing in Danville; two sons: James Edward Cochran, and his wife Judy and William Thomas Cochran, and his wife Helen, both of Lapeer, Mich.. There are also five granddaughters; two grandsons; 13 great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; seven great-great-grandsons; three great-great-granddaughters; two step-grandsons; a brother, Robert E. Thomas, Curran, Mich. And a sister-in-law, Frances Cochran, Lake Orion, Mich.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, 111 E. Flint St., Lake Orion, Mich. Interment in East Lawn Cemetery, Lake Orion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
