Irmgard K. Devlin, age 82, 8 Crooked Stick, Bloomsburg died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Born in Germany on June 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Johann and Elizabeth (Holzer) Kleemann. She came to the United States in 1963 and resided in Bloomsburg since 1992. She also had resided in New Orleans, Louisiana, Marlton, New Jersey and Houston, Texas.
Irma was employed as a special education teacher for many years. She was also employed by the United States Postal Service and last at the Bloomsburg Walmart store for 17 years.
She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. An avid quilter and expert knitter and cook. She was also a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, John S. Devlin, Jr., on July 15, 1998.
Surviving are four children: John S. Devlin, Jr., and his wife Laura, Seattle, Wash.; Elisabeth Devlin-Zeigler, Mandeville, Louisiana; William H. Devlin, Pearl River, Louisiana; Michael R. Devlin and his wife Julie, Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren; a great-granddaughter Isla Kate; a sister, Katharina McArthur, Topeka, Kansas; three brothers: Helmut Kleemann and his wife Isolde; Hans Kleemann and his wife Erna; Heinerich Kleemann and his wife Tanya, all of Regensberg, Germany and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a. m. in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Richard J. Mowery, officiating. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
Viewing on Sunday from 2-4 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
