Irvin Sylvester Shoup, Sr.

Irvin S. Shoup, Sr., age 74, of Catawissa died Monday, February 7, 2022 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, on August 2, 1947, he was a son of the late Arthur Clayton, Sr. and Arnetta Irma (Clark) Shoup.

Irvin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He later worked at the Danville State Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Glenna M. (Mitchell) Shoup; sons, Irvin S. Shoup, Jr. and wife Chelsea of Elysburg, Robert L. Shoup and wife Stephanie of Bloomsburg; four grandchildren; brothers, Arthur Shoup, Jr. and wife Mary Jane of York, PA, Glen Richard Shoup, Sr. and wife Dorothea of Spokane Wash.; half-sister, Jane Taylor and husband Ron of York, PA and half-brother, Michael Shoup and wife Tammy of York, PA.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
