Isabel I. "Isy" Shultz, age 92, 11 Fire Hall Road, Bloomsburg (Buckhorn) died at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she was a patient since Feb., 2008.
Born on Sept. 14, 1918 in Buckhorn, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel (Brobst) Derr. She resided in Buckhorn most of her life except from 1941 to 1948 when she resided in Jerseytown and several years in her early life which were spent in Lightstreet.
She was a member of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years and also served as a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving is her husband, Raymond Shultz, with whom she celebrated her 69th wedding anniversary on Oct. 31, 2010, who also resides at the Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center; two brothers: Paul E. Derr, and his wife Harriet, Bloomsburg and Franklin E. Derr, Danville. There are also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy C. Derr in 1988 and by two sisters: Esther G. Sandel on July 30, 2010 and Ethel M. Correll on August 20, 2006.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 94 Schoolhouse Road, Bloomsburg (Buckhorn) with her pastor, Rev. Ralph B. Hartenbach officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends may call at the Church on Monday from 10-11 a. m.
