Isaiah B. Giger, III, age 64, formerly of Middletown, Dauphin County, died at 6:05 p. m. Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where had been a patient.
Born in Bloomsburg on October 26, 1947, he was a son of the late Isaiah B., Jr. and Margaret (Valencik) Giger. He resided in Bloomsburg during his early life and was a 1965 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. He resided in Middletown and Hershey most of his lifetime. For the past nine months he resided at Elmcroft in Berwick.
He was employed as a house parent at the Hershey School from 1987 to 1998. Earlier he was employed by Columbia County at the former County Home in Mount Pleasant Township.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are a daughter, Lauraetta Rhoads, Monroe Township, Wyoming County; three grandchildren: Madison Rhoads, Lexis Rhoads, Kisla Rhoads; a brother, James Giger, Orangeville; and three sisters: Bonny, wife of Larry Broadt, Bloomsburg; Kathryn Giger, Millville; and Margaret, wife of Gerald Yaple, Houtzdale.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge, with full military honors by the combined VFW group. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 p. m.
