Jack L. Millard, Sr

Jack L. Millard, Sr., age 83, 84 Millard Drive, Bloomsburg, died 2 p. m. Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for eight days. He was in failing health for several years.

Born on July 6, 1935 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late John C. and Dorothy (Ranck) Millard. He spent most of his life in the Bloomsburg area.

Jack was employed by Bloomsburg University on the college security force for 18 years, retiring in 1993. Earlier he served with the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War and after for 10 years.

He was a member of the Mountain Grove Lutheran Church and the Valley of Bloomsburg American Legion Post 273.

Jack was preceded in death by two sisters: Elaine Boyer and Louise Eagan and by five brothers: Harold Millard, James Millard, Donald Millard, Henry Millard and Robert Millard.

Surviving are his wife, the former Patsy Ann Hons, with whom he celebrated his 63rd wedding anniversary on October 16, 2017; four children: Jack L. Millard, Jr., and his wife Gloria, Rupert; Julie Ann Steffen, Bloomsburg; Robby Allan Millard, and his wife Susan, Mifflinville; Darrel W. Millard, Bloomsburg; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Millard, Bloomsburg; two sisters: June Beaver and Joyce, wife of Ronald Foust, all of Bloomsburg and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor Christine Kirchner officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a. m. The combined Veterans group will perform military honors. The family requests that flowers be kindly omitted.
