Jacqueline Lee Powers, formerly known as Jacqueline Lee Baum, age 62, formerly of E. Juniper St., Hazleton, died at 3:26 a. m., Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Geisinger Medical center, Danville, where she was a patient for one day.
Born on June 18, 1949 in Bradenville, Westmoreland County, she was a daughter of the late James Willard and Henrietta "Dutch" (Johnstone) Powers.
Jackie attended the Derry High School and resided in Hazleton for over 30 years.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Jackie was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), doing mainly private duty nursing.
She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first grandchild, Braeden Michael Seiger, next month.
Surviving are a daughter, Allison L., wife of Michael Seiger, Bloomsburg; five siblings: Joan, wife of Roy Lutton, Latrobe; Judith, wife of Max Evans, Derry; Janice, wife of James Smeltzer, Vandergrift; Jacob Powers, and his wife Lori, Phoenix, AZ; Janeen, wife of Mark Bailey, Blairsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by a brother, James Powers, while serving in the Vietnam War in 1968.
Private services will be held from the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville. There will be no calling hours.
