Jacqueline J. Walter, age 76, formerly of R.R. 1, Catawissa, died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center where she was a gues since June 2000.
Born in Bloomsburg on June 5, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Amy "Goldie" (Hinkle) Rupp. She spent her entire lifetime in Roaring Creek Valley.
She was employed by Bloomsburg Mills, Inc., for 44 years, retiring in 1995.
Jacqueline loved to crochet and read and especially enjoyed visits from her family and friends. Her great-grandchildren were her special love.
Her husband, Guy E. Walter, preceded her in death on July 12, 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna J. Derr, Catawissa; two sons: Ricky E. Walter and Terry A. Walter, both of Shamokin; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn "Kate", wife of Raymond Gair, Cogan Station; and a brother, Marvin J. "Jim" Rupp, Rawlins, Wyo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Freewill Cemetery, rural Catawissa, with Pastor David A. Borton from Columbia-Montour Home Hospice officiating. There will be no calling hours.
The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to Columbia-Montour Home Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
