James R. Aucker, age 82, 405 Finch Street, Orangeville (Stony Brook Circle), died at his home and was pronounced dead at 7:25 a. m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018.
Born in Lykens on Sept. 2, 1936, he was a son of the late Paul and Ethel R. (Johns) Aucker. He was a 1954 graduate of Lykens High School. He resided in Stony Brook Circle for 18 years and previously lived in Wonderview for 20 years.
James was self employed as a salesman for New Dawn Supply and previously he worked in sales for Armor Research.
He was an active volunteer for the Bloomsburg YMCA, Kidsburg and currently for the Bloomsburg Town Pool Renovation. He was a ten gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross. For many years he operated the scoreboard for Bloomsburg University basketball games. He organized the Bloomsburg Chapter of the National Campers & Hikers Association.
James was preceded in death by two brothers.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dawn C. Williard, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on January 21, 2018; five children: James D. Aucker, and his wife Brenda, Millville; Lisa, wife of Richard Kinley, Bloomsburg; Susan E. Aucker, Bloomsburg; Jeffrey R. Aucker, and his wife Lisa, DuBois; Matthew John Aucker, and his wife Ronna, Bloomsburg and eight grandchildren.
Private services will be held in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Rev. Susan O. Rogutski, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Catawissa, officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. There will be no public viewing.
