James W. Fisher, age 86, 201 Columbia Avenue, Bloomsburg, died at 7:45 a. m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center where he was a patient for ten days. He was in failing health since December, 2014.
Born in Williamsport on June 4, 1929, he was a son of the late John R. and Edna D. (Hartzell) Fisher. He resided in Bloomsburg for over 80 years and attended the Bloomsburg Schools.
Jim was employed by Bloom Mills, Inc., for 30 years, retiring in 1991.
He served with the US Air Force from 1950 to 1960 and spent his first two years in Korea during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret F. Reynolds, on August 5, 2004 and by his sister, Barbara L. Taylor, on June 30, 2012.
Surviving is his son, Thomas J. Kobeck, and his wife Linda, Berwick; three granddaughters: Lori, wife of Robert Trumbauer, Breinigsville; Amanda, wife of Mark Benner, Downingtown; Holli, wife of Christopher Sult, Nescopeck; five great-granddaughters; one great grandson; two step-great grandsons; one great-great-grandson; and a nephew, John R. Shultz, and his wife Debra, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:30 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Thomas E. Harmon, pastor of West Falls Baptist Church, officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy, with military honors by the combined veterans group. Friends may call on Monday from 1:30 to 2:30 p. m.
