James L. Petty

James L. Petty, age 83, 27 Holly Court, Danville, died at 12: 15 a. m. Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a brief illness.

Born in Berwick on May 23, 1935, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Florence E. (Bankhart) Petty. He was a 1953 graduate of Berwick High School and a resident of Danville since 1982.

Jim was employed by Consolidated Container, Co., Berwick for 35 years and held the position of quality control manager when he retired. in September, 2005.

He was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Riverside.  His favorite activities were gardening and going to the beach.

Jim was preceded by his wife, the former Margaret Randolph "Rande" Petty on January 6, 2007

Surviving are six children: Michelle A. Mordan, Danville; Janae L., wife of Anthony J. Aglio, II, Camden, Delaware; Robert Petty, Greenville; Bradley Petty , Berwick; Jeffrey Petty, Nescopeck; Susan Petty Nevel, Berwick; a number of grandchildren including Blaise, Jessica, Mackenzie, Maci and Anthony, III; and a sister, Lorna Steever, Berwick.

Funeral; services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, 2:00 PM in the St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, where he will be buried next to his beloved wife. The family will greet friends at the Church from 1:30 to 2 p. m.
