James E. Thiel

James E. Thiel, age 74, 1275 Hemlock Street, Bloomsburg, died at 3 p. m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Geisinger Medical Cenbter, Danville after being in failing health since August.

Born on December 1, 1935 in Sandusky, Mich., he was the only child of the late Ezra and Etta M. (Franzel) Thiel.

Jim was a 1953 graduate of Sandusky High School and resided in Bloomsburg for thirty years. Prior to that he lived in Berwick for five years.

He spent his working years as a salesman in the pre-fab housing industry, last working for Design Homes, Bloomsburg.

Jim was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg.

He served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Domagalski, with whom he would have celebrated his 45th wedding anniversary on August 16, 2010.; a son, Drew J. Thiel, and his wife Kristin, Wexford; two granddaughters: Alyssa K. Thiel and Hailey E. Thiel, both of Wexford. He was the last of his immediate family.

Memorial services will be held on Friday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Paul R. Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 10-11 a. m.
