Jane L. (Keller) Snyder
Jane L. (Keller) Snyder, age 85, 3541 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy), died at 11 a. m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Orangeville, where she was a patient much of the time since Nov. 27, 2013. She had been in failing health for six years.
Born in Bloomsburg on October 5, 1928, she was a daughter of George J. and Eleanor (Evans) Keller. After living in several different places, she returned to Bloomsburg in the late 1980's.
Jane was a graduate of the former Ben Franklin School, on the Bloomsburg State Teachers College campus in 1946 and the former Bloomsburg State Teachers College in 1950 with a degree in elementary education. She also attended the former Licensed Practical Nurse school operated by the Danville School District.
She was employed as an LPN by several nursing homes and hospitals, including Evangelical Hospital Lewisburg.
Jane was of the Catholic faith and attended St. John Lutheran Church, Espy. She was talented in art and enjoyed home decorating. Being the daughter of the widely known animal trainer, Professor Keller, she had a life long love of animals.
Surviving is her husband, Harold S. Snyder, with whom she celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary on May 5, 2013; a daughter, Ginny Anne, wife of William Halpern, Newtown; two sons: David Molinaro, and his wife Sue, Orangeville and Bruce Molinaro, and his wife Barbara, McClure; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step- sons: Rev. William D. Snyder, and his wife Patty, York and Michael Snyder, and his wife Janet, Mifflinburg; a step-daughter, Victoria L. Snyder, Reistertown, Md.; four step-grandsons; and a sister, Catherine Biever, Boyertown.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p. m. in St. John Lutheran Church, 2575 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy), with the Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of the Church officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
