Janice M. Weyant, age 89, formerly of Binghamton, NY died at 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Bloomsburg, where she resided for five years.
Born in Alesia, Maryland on June 14, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Benjamin I. and Florence A. (Perry) Buck. Her step-father was the late Joseph Murray Kelley.
Janice was a foster parent and also worked at Vail-Ballou Press, Binghamton at one time.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints, Berwick, PA.
A lifelong New York Yankees fan, she was also very patriotic, having been born on Flag Day and passing away 35 minutes before her 90th birthday, June 14, 2015.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Everett W. Weyant on April 10, 2010; and by two foster sons: Donald Purdy and Joseph Goodrich.
Surviving are six children: Charles Purdy (Linda); Margaret (Weyant) Bridges; Claude Everett Weyant (Carol); Vida Bendick (Thomas); Betty Odom (Milton); Ronald Weyant (Melissa); 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 305 Murray Hill Rd, Vestal, NY 13850 with Bishop Matthew Cook officiating. Interment in Chenango Valley Cemetery, Binghamton. Viewing at the Church from 1 -2 p. m.
