Janice M. Yost, age 86, Winding Road, Orangeville, died unexpectedly at her home and was pronounced dead at 11:33 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2015.
Born in Benton on November 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Hester Elzada (Ash) Breece. She attended Benton High School and graduated from Wilkes Barre Business College in 1961. Janice resided in Forks since 1959.
She was employed as a caseworker by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare office in Bloomsburg for over 25 years.
Janice was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Forks, and served as its pianist for many years. She was an avid reader and loved to play the piano.
She was preceded in death by a husband, Pennington D. Yost on December 8, 1997; a daughter, Alyce M. Yost on May 17, 2010; a grandson, Simon E. Kocher on February 27, 1997 and a granddaughter, Sophie E. Kocher on December 28, 2008.
Surviving are five children; William R. Yost, wife Patricia, Hayes, VA; Elaine D. Wife of Richard Fisher, Orangeville; Elizabeth Snyder, Bloomsburg; Katherine, wife of Wayne R. Kocher, Benton; Jeffrey C. Yost, Orangeville. 13 Grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Zion United Church of Christ, Zion Church Road, Orangeville with the Rev. Stephen D. Englehardt officiating. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
