Jason W. Ryman
Jason W. Ryman, age 27, 2231 Cedar St., Philadelphia, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, in a sailboat accident on the Chesapeake Bay near Gibson Island, Maryland.
Born at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on October 26, 1984, he was the son of Vernon D. Ryman, and Victoria A. (DeWald) Ruk. He resided in Philadelphia for the past five years and previously lived in Bloomsburg and Danville.
Jason was a 2003 graduate of Danville High School and a 2006 graduate of Bloomsburg University with a degree in Business Administration and Human Resources. He also attended the Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, New York City.
He was currently employed by Com Cast, Corp., Philadelphia in the human resources department.
Jason was involved with Big Brothers-Big Sisters in Philadelphia for the past two years. He enjoyed all sports, working out at the gym, chess, scuba diving, boating and travel. At the time of his death be was training to participate in a 1/2 marathon in the near future. His sister, Amy, and his companion, Hannah, are going to participate in the run in his memory.
Surviving are his mother, Victoria A. "Vicki" A. Ruk, and her companion David Kieser, Chestertown, Md.; his father, Vernon D. Ryman, and his companion, Mariluz Alex, Watsontown; a sister, Amy, wife of Matthew Kolinovsky, Bloomsburg; two half-sisters: Lauren Ryman and Asten Ryman, Bloomsburg; his maternal grandparents, Irving and Elsie DeWald, Coal City, Ill.; his paternal grandparents, Carson and Betty Ryman, Bloomsburg (Buckhorn); his significant other, Hannah Kahn, who resided with him and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Jeffrey G. Bohan, pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1-2 p. m. at the funeral home.
