Jean D. Fischer

Jean Diana Fischer, 78, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Nottingham Village Nursing Center in Northumberland.

She was born on August 12, 1945 in Dover, New Jersey a daughter of the late David A. and Evelyn E. (Giering) Heggie.

Jeanie (as people often referred to her) was an executive assistant working for several international companies. She retired in 2004 in Naples, Florida, enjoying as much time as possible soaking up the sun at the beach, spending time with family and friends and traveling extensively with her daughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Cooper, of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Cameron Cooper, Reed Cooper and Emma Cooper, all of Bloomsburg; a brother Thomas Heggie and his wife Jane of Greensboro, North Carolina; two nephews and one niece; and many caring friends.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1 p. m. at her daughter’s home, 650 E. Third Street, Bloomsburg. A private family burial service will be held on June 4, 2024 at the Emmaus Moravian Cemetery, Emmaus, Pennsylvania.
