Jean Marie (Sherman) Faux

Jean M. (Sherman) Faux, age 89, formerly of Bloomsburg died peacefully at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown, Northampton County on Sunday, February 12, 2023.

Born in Bloomsburg on August 24, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Ray H. and Dorothy L. (Harrison) Sherman. She was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg and a 1951 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Jean was employed as a bookkeeper and office worker for UGI, Gas, Inc., the former Zeisloft Construction Co., the former Boyd Kline, Associates, and last at HRI Construction.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she was involved with many activities including the Altar Guild, served on church council and various other committees. She was a member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary where she worked in the gift shop and front desk.

Jean was a supporter of Special Olympics and volunteered at the Salvation Army She was also a member of the YMCA where she participated in the Silver Sneakers Program.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Faux, Sr., on March 3, 1973.

Jean is survived by her son, William R. Faux, Jr., Dillsburg; a daughter, Sherry A. Faux of Allentown; three grandsons: Ross Faux, Brandon Faux and Matthew Faux; two sisters: Edna I., wife of Michael Santo, Hellertown and Sandra L., wife of Van V. Whitmire, Danville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Viewing will be from 10 – 11 a. m.
