Jean M. Hunt

Jean M. (Moon) Hunt, age 84, of Bloomsburg, died at 9:18 a. m. Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for 17 days. She was previously a guest at Bloomsburg Care and Rehabilitation for six years.

Born in Williamsport on May 19, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Grant T. and Dorothy  E. (Smith) Moon.  She resided in Scott Township for 15 years prior to moving to the nursing home and lived in  Rupert for 15 years prior to that. She was a 1953 graduate of Hughesville High School.

Jean was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co from 1968 to 1975. Later she was employed by the former Bloomsburg Health Care Center from 1982 to 1987 and at Grandview Health & Rehabilitation in Danville from 1990 to 1996 when she retired.

She was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg.

Jean enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, cooking and watching birds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Hunt on October16, 1995.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Deborah L. Kahler, and her companion John Mensch, Bloomsburg; a granddaughter, Lena Marie Kahler, Bloomsburg; a sister, Helen M. Haines, Benton and a niece, Karen, wife of Dennis Charles, Benton.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11 a. m. in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Grovania, with her pastor, Audrey M. Brosious officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
