Jeanne M. Girton, age 73, 100 Westminster Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 8:44 p. m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Select Specialty Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for two months. She was in failing health for several years.
Born in Bloomsburg on September 18, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Lester L. and Margaret (Barnes) Girton.
Jeanne was a 1960 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and also graduated from the Thompson School of Business, Harrisburg.
She resided in Bloomsburg since 2009 and prior to that resided with her daughter in Fredericksburg, Va. for two years and in Appleton, Wis. for 28 years before that.
Jeanne was employed as an executive secretary by Team Industries, Kaukauna, Wis. for 25 years, retiring in 2006. Earlier, following her education, she was employed by David Taylor Model Basin, Bethesda, Md.
When able she attended the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. She delivered Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary.
Jeanne was a loving mother and grandmother to her daughter and four grandsons. She had a huge heart and was loved by family and friends alike.
Surviving are a daughter, Holly A., wife of Philip R. Reich and four grandsons: Andrew J. Hallet, Harrison W. Hallet, Benjamin R. Hallet, Eli P. Reich, all of Fredericksburg, Va . and a brother, Lester L. Girton, II, and his wife Joanne, Spring, Texas.
Memorial services will be held in the spring of 2016 at a time and place to be announced.
