Jeanne R. Naunas, age 85, 62 Perry Ave., Bloomsburg, died at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Balanced Care At Bloomsburg, where she had resided for a month.
Born in Bloomsburg on June 24, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Grace (Auman) DuBois. She lived in Bloomsburg all her life.
A 1943 graduate of Bloomsburg High School, she also attended the former Bloomsburg State Teachers College. She was employed for six years in the payroll department of Magee Carpet Co., Bloomsburg; and later in life worked as a partner with her husband at the former Ash and Naunas Store, East St., Bloomsburg, retiring in 1986.
Jeanne was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Bloomsburg; the Bloomsburg Archery Club; and the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary.
Jeanne was preceded in death by three sisters: Grace Brown, Dorothy Wright and Betty Jane Hock.
Surviving is her husband, Robert Ash Naunas, Sr., with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on Nov. 4, 2010; two sons: Thomas Ash Naunas, and his wife Vicki, Madison, Wis.; and Robert Ash Naunas, Jr., wife Mary Kay, Wescoesville; and a grandson, James Ash Naunas, Wescoesville.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, Market and West Third Sts., Bloomsburg, with her pastors, Rev. Jay E. Jones and Rev. Jane L. OâBorski officiating. Interment in Old Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday. Please use Third Street entrance.
