Jeannette Dehlia (Weaver) Brown, age 74, 633 Harrison Road, Orangeville, died Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a brief struggle with an aggressive cancer.
Born at Fort Riley, Kansas on February 10, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Stanley C. and Doris M. (Cate) Weaver. She was a 1960 graduate of Danville High School.
She worked several years as a nurse's aide and was a certified EMT and also provided instruction in first aid for the American Red Cross.
Gregarious by nature, she enjoyed interacting with people through her participation in flea markets, finding and selling unique collectables and other items. She was a loving wife and mother, an avid outdoor enthusiast and aggressive scrabble player who left her opponents in a smoking heap of burnt rubble.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Stuart A. "Stu" Brown; her daughter, Ruth Martinez, Trout Run; a son, Charles Fox, Danville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters: Rose Ritter, Bloomsburg; Elizabeth Keim, Bloomsburg; Victoria Jones, Mifflinville; and a brother, Bill Weaver, currently living in Colombia, South America.
She was preceded in death by a son Carl W. Fox and a husband, William Vognetz.
Private ceremonial services will be held by the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, Pa 17701.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton.
