Jennie A. Ellis

Jennie A. (Lesnefsky) Ellis, age 92, of 2610 Tower Road, Bloomsburg, died at 1:05 a. m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the Bloomsburg Hospital where she was a patient.

Born in Beaver Township on September 22, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Julie (Bolinsky) Lesnefsky. She was a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area and a 1946 graduate of the former Beaver Main High School.

Jennie was last employed by the Press Enterprise in the housekeeping department, working there for 18 years before retiring.

She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cleaning, cooking, television and gardening and planting flowers. Her special time was being with her family.

Jennie was married to her beloved husband, Robert L. Ellis, on July 5, 1947 and they would have celebrated 74 years of marriage in July; two beloved daughters: Pat A. Ellis, at home and Mary Focarelli of East Stroudsburg; a grandson, Rob Focarelli and his significant other, Sarah Lynn of Chandler, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Melissa, wife of Dan Miller of Clovis, New Mexico; two great-grandchildren: Bodhi Focarelli and baby Miller expected to arrive in June; three sisters: Regina Lesnefsky, Berwick; Anna Roan, Bloomsburg; Sophie Plafcan, Berwick; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a. m. Friday in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, by her pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. A viewing will be held at the Church from 10-11 a. m.
