Jimmel L. (Gordon) Fafara, age 62, of Holly Dr., Berwick, died suddenly after a diabetic episode on Sunday September 17, 2023 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born on February 4, 1961 in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Peggy (Kramer) Gordon.
Jimmel was always upbeat and positive. She had many talents including cooking, gardening, being able to fix anything, cleaning and sewing. Her meals were delicious (as she would say) and she would make enough to share with neighbors. Her green thumb was displayed through her beautiful gardens and flowerbeds every year. She was never afraid to tackle a D.I.Y project or help others with theirs. On cold and rainy days, she enjoyed watching old movies and shooting pool, but when it was hot, she would relax on her raft in the pool. “This is the life” she would always say. She loved her family and friends the most and always made them a priority. We will all miss her terribly.
Jimmel was preceded in death by two brothers, David Gordon and Douglas Gordon.
She is survived by her husband, Scott L. Fafara, with whom she celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary in April 2023; her daughter, Elizabeth, wife of Chad Owen, of Tennessee; two grandsons, Avon and Austin; three sisters, Christine, wife of Walt Himmelberger, of Hamburg, Karen, wife of Robert Halat, of Berwick, and Sharon, wife of Barry Evans, of Catawissa; her best friend since kindergarden, Kathy Zeck Katynski, of Berwick; three nieces: Amanda Himmelberger, Ashley Heller, and Brittany Farnsworth; four nephews: Matthew Kishbaugh, Justin Halat, Cory Halat, and Jeffrey Himmelberger.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
