Joan M. Garrison

Joan M. (Johnson) Garrison, age 67, of 207 Spring Garden Ave., Bloomsburg, passed away shortly after noon on Friday, November 5, 2021 at her home. She had been ill since March.

Born on August 22, 1954 in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of Esther B. (Crone) Johnson and the late George W. Johnson. Joan was a 1972 graduate of Central Columbia High School.

Joan was last employed as the site manager for the Bloomsburg School Apartments. She was previously employed at the former R.R. Donnelly Printing Plant for over 30 years and the former McGregor plant prior to that.

She was a member of the Dream Machines Car Club. She enjoyed doing crafts, riding in hot air balloons, was an avid reader, and loved cats. Joan also practiced holistic health.

She was preceded in death by her father on February 6, 1999, and by a sister, Melanie Houseknecht in September 1994.

Surviving is her mother, of Bloomsburg, and her husband, Dennis C. Garrison, with whom she observed their 47th wedding anniversary, on August 17, 2021.

Private funeral services will be held for the family and close friends with Rev. Gordon E. Smith and Rev. Gregory Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
