JOANN L. RUGGLES
Joann L. Ruggles, age 64, 474 Klinger Hill Road, Benton, died at 5 a. m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for six days.
Born in Whitplain Township, Montgomery County, on July 9, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Edward L. and Amanda E. (Saylor) Myers. She resided in Sugarloaf Township for over 50 years and attended Benton High School.
Joann was employed last at the former Market Street Cafe, Benton and earlier at Weis Markets, Bloomsburg and the former Dol-Ang Dress Factory in Benton.
When she was younger, she enjoyed roller skating at Grassmere Park in Sugarloaf Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Ruggles on June 10, 2008; a daughter, Tammy J. Showers on Nov. 5, 1989; a son, Henry G. Hollinger, III on Nov. 28, 2001; a granddaughter, Jada M. Hollinger, April 23, 1986; a brother, Edward L. Myers, Jr., April 27, 1971; and a sister, Jane Pulli, in Jan., 2009.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Ruggles, at home; a granddaughter, Amanda R. Showers, East Stroudsburg; a great-granddaughter, Haileigh Slagus, East Stroudsburg; and two brothers: Frank C. Adams, and his wife Irene, Marlton, N.J. and Richard E. Adams, and his wife Gloria, Waynesville, Missouri.
Graveside services will be held on Monday at 1 p. m. in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Sugarloaf Township, with the Rev. Howard W. Leh, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Central, officiating. There will be no viewing.
