Joanne E. Swartz, age 76, 2602 Bloom Road, Danville, died at 10:06 a. m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for much of the past five months. She was in failing health for seven years.
Born in Mahoning Township, Montour County on Jan. 10, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Thompson) Kriner. She spent her entire life in the Danville area.
Joanne was a homemaker and enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends. She was a NASCAR racing fan and enjoyed watching old movies and bowling on television.
Her beloved dog, âSnickersâ died last year.
Surviving are her husband, Frank A. Swartz, with whom she celebrated her 52nd wedding anniversary on July 11, 2011, and her son, Randy S. Swartz who resided with her. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with the Rev. Edmund W. Minnich, retired United Methodist minister officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 - 10 a. m.
