John J. Binder, Jr., age 96, of Reedy Street, Danville, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at home under the care of Geisinger Hospice, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Milton on December 14, 1927, he was a son of the late John J. Sr. and Florence (Stanford) Binder.
John Served in the U.S. Navy during World War ll. He then went on to be an engineer, working on various railroads.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by eight sibilings.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Lorene E. (Hartman) Binder; three daughters, Lorene Versluis, Vicki Billman, and Brenda K. Binder all of Danville; two sons, Joseph Binder of Kulpmont and John J. Binder III of Danville; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, and a sister Rose Gehrig of York, PA.
Interment and graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 1:30 pm in Fairview Cemetery, Danville. Geisinger Hospice Chaplain Alan Landelli will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
