John E. Borich, Jr.
John E. Borich, Jr., age 86, 218 E. Ninth Street, Bloomsburg, died at 3 a. m. Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center where he was a guest for four years. He was in failing health for 20 years.
Born in Kulpmont on January 31, 1926, he was the son of the late John E. and Anna (Komauroski) Borich. He resided in Bloomsburg for 46 years and previously lived in Sunbury.
John was employed as a delivery truck driver by the former Buttercrust Baking Co., Sunbury for 26 years before retiring in 1988.
He served with the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Sunbury.
At one time he played the guitar and steel guitar with various bands.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Dunkleberger; a sister Helen and two brothers: Joseph and Tony Borich.
Surviving are his wife, the former Victoria A. "Vicki" Cook, with whom he celebrated his 24th wedding anniversary on May 27, 2012; a daughter Sandy and four sons: Mick, Bill, Jeff, Randy, all of the Sunbury area; a son, Martin Cook, and his wife Cindy, and a son, Michael "Mikie" Borich, and his fiance Lizzette Velazquez, all of Bloomsburg; 10 grandchildren, including Cerella Borich, Bloomsburg; and two sisters: Mary and Emily, Daytona, Fla.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
