JOHN D. ESENWEIN
John D. Esenwein, age 63, 2253-B Mountain Road, Catawissa, was stricken at his home and pronounced dead in the emergency room of the Bloomsburg Hospital at 10:40 p. m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011.
Born in Doylestown, Bucks County, he was the son of Amelia (Zukow) Esenwein, Warrington and the late John Esenwein. He resided in Locust Township for about 10 years and previously in Danville for 10 years.
John was a farmer and also drove a truck for Delavan E. Whitenight Wholesale Fruits & Vegetables, Riverside, before retiring due to health problems about 15 years ago.
He served with the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Surviving in addition to his mother are four children: John D. Esenwein, Jr., and his wife Bobbie; Jody, wife of Michael Szoke; Jacob D. Esenwein, and his wife Tabitha, all of Danville; Jill, wife of Bryan Thomas, Catawissa; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Esenwein, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a. m. in the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington. Interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Bucks County.
Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
