John S. "Jack" Llewellyn, age 88, formerly of the Catawissa area , died at 1:45 p. m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where he resided since June 24, 2014.
Born on January 8, 1928 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, a son of the late Sterling W. and Elizabeth L. (Carpenter) Llewellyn, he resided in the Catawissa area most of his lifetime.
Jack was employed as a truck driver by Reithoffer Amusements for many years. He enjoyed fishing in his leisure time.
He served with the US Army in Korea during the Korean War and received two bronze stars. Later he served in the US Air Force.
Jack was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Llewellyn.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie K., wife of John T. McGuire, East Stroudsburg; two grandsons: Ryan Scott Ulrich and Mark David Ulrich; five great-grandchildren: Nicholas David Ulrich; Zachery Ryan Ulrich; Jenae Amanda Ulrich; Kevin Wayne Ulrich; Cohen Scott Ulrich; a brother, Clarence Llewellyn, Catawissa; a sister, Betty Broda, Almedia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
