John C. Troup, Sr., age 69, of 23 Draketown Road, Bloomsburg, died at 12:16 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 in the emergency room of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital after taking ill at his home.
Born in Tabor City, NC on August 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Simon J. and Louannie (Coleman) Troup.
John has resided in the Bloomsburg area since 1969 and was employed at Kawneer Corp. for 33 years in the maintenance department until his retirement in 2004 and was previously employed at Southern Glass, Savannah, GA. He enjoyed doing carpentry and mechanical work at his home.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Simon James Troup, Jr.
Surviving are his wife, the former Nyoka D. Hill, with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage on September 30, 2011; six children: Tara T. Futch, Midway, GA; John C. Troup Jr., and his wife Wendy E., Orangeville; Shelby J. Dildine, Bloomsburg; Jamie L. Troup, at home; Tim T. Troup, Lightstreet and Corey A. Troup, Lightstreet; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Genovese "Gen" T. wife of Wallace H. Kirby, Orangeville.
Memorial services are private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of John can be made to The American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
